Hello everybody,
We plan our trip to Scotland this time around Mai 2019 - of course with our old Rust Dolly.

Are there any Renault 4 enthusiasts between Newcastle, Edinburgh, Inverness and Dunnet who have time to exchange ideas or have a cup of tea?

As is common in our R4, it can also cause problems, it would just be a better feeling to know where to find help other than roadside assistance.

We have been in Scotland by plane late 2018 - it was so great, so we decide to come back :)

Here are a few details about (planned) travel - Departure in Vienna on May 11 with Nightjet to Hamburg, from there on its own axis to Amsterdam and from there by ferry to Newcastle.

When you disembark from the ferry in Newcastle you will be facing north - so just keep going in that direction! There are two main roads from the Newcastle area to Edinburgh - the A1 via the coast, quickest but fairly boring and the A68 which takes you into the Borders region where you can explore the many interesting towns - Selkirk, Melrose, and Galashiels - quite a tourist area so good facilities.

yesterday we reached the top of isle of Skye, mission accomplished, goal reached :clapping: IMG_20190519_130729.jpg

so we'll drive day by day back to Newcastle.

until now only tiny cooling leakage on carburator and bigger problem with crazy knocking from driver door.

Today, the R4 has eaten my mobile!

took a few pictures and plugged it into the ventilation. When he started, he shaked himself so that the mobile slipped in.

we had to dismantle the ventilation at the station square in Newcastle because the hotel reservation was stored on the mobile

I guess many pedestrians had a lot of fun.

also the reason for reluctant mountain driving and bad gas intake is found:

The stuff they call gasoline here on the island!

had today refuel in the absence of a gas station from the canister (normal 95 gasoline from Austria) and behold, he runs like home, no problems under 2000 rpm and no shaking and jerking. IMG_20190522_120108.jpg IMG_20190521_121651.jpg

Finally found a solution, Gulf has (at least for mine) Renault 4 compatible gasoline.

today we reached Amsterdam and had a 450km one stop trip to Hamburg.
