Tyre load index

I found plenty of posts on tyre sizes on the forum but no info on this subject.
Currently looking at new tyres for my F6 van project. Most lower price tyres up to say £60-£70 are rated 75 which, according to the Michelin website is 387kg. I won’t be using carrying much in the way of weight. Should I look for a higher rating, and would these (75) be underated in the eyes of the law?

I've never noticed the loading rating on tyres. 75 is good to 1500kg. The max loaded (gross) weight for my R4 F4 is 1165kg. I favour 145/80/13 and mine all have Uniroyal.

Thanks Malcolm. That's good enough for me. Its 145's I was looking at. I'll try for a decent brand, particularly for the fronts.
