Hello peoples,
My name is martin,i live in Portugal with my wife Beth.We owned a quatro el (Portuguese name commonly used for Renault 4)for a few years some time ago and now i want another. My major concern however ,is unleaded petrol and valve damage, can anyone comment on this situation?
I am unaware of any fuel additive that substitutes the lead being available here in Portugal. Thankyou, Martinez.

Renault 4s have always been fitted with reasonable valve seats (as they have an aluminium head). Most people don't use unleaded additives.

It is possible to burn valves by running at maximum speed for a long time, but that's probably due as much to the weak fuel mixture as the valves. An additive for long high speed motorway trips can be a good idea.
