...Voiture Pie..

..Steak and Kidney, Fish, Stargazey, Meat, Scots, Apple, Fruit and Mince pies are all well known to us I am sure, but a Voiture Pie?

Does anyone know the ingredients and whether it is eaten as a main course with potatoes and cauliflower cheese or as a pudding with ice cream or raspberry sauce?

Not sure about the pie thing, but that looks like a police car that a Renault 4 could out run.

French people used to call all police cars "Pie". Can some French-speaking member shed more light?

Just come back from deepest France today with Blanche. She tells me that Panda cars are called 'voiture pie' because they are black and white (like pandas!). Pie can also describe a piebald horse or a black and white cow.
