Hi All, I'm part way through restoring my '86 silver GTL and like many my drivers seat is knackered and my passenger seat could be a bit better. Finding a whole decent interior is pretty unlikely these days as the cars have got rare, and there can't be that many being broken any more. Thinking laterally (and having an industrial sewing machine) does anyone have any grey tartan seats or just covers going spare?

Ideally I just need the covers but if you have anything you think might be of interest please get in touch. I'm prepared to strip down whatever I can find and start piecing together parts to make one good set up, so whether it be one seat cover (front or rear) or a whole set I'd be interested in hearing from you.

If they are whole seats then the SE is best for me. However, if you have covers only (or can take the covers off - its pretty easy and I can give guidance) I'm happy to pay postage etc to get them here.

If you think you have something that might be of interest then please get in touch by pm or I'm on 07765 713967 (Nic). Cheers!

have you tried scrapyards already?

We have a large supermarket near us and they sell covers pretty cheaply, stuff imported from the East,. If you have an industrial sewing machine, perhaps you could alter them to fit.

Have you also considered making your own and using the old covers as a template?

pretty stupid, huh? I've only just clicked, maybe because I went to a scrapyard yesterday........

I wouldn't be alone on here of enjoying the relative luxury of finding a handy spares R4 at the local scrappie. Its a sobering thought to realise that of all the R4's left in the UK, something scary like 40+% are likely to already be owned by active or dormant members of this forum. They are that rare here now.

tbh Mojo enjoy it while it lasts in France because they will eventually get that rare there too. I spent 48 hours in Paris last New Year and didn't see a single R4 the whole time, and only a single 2cv at the gare as I was getting on the Eurostar to come home. That was surprising.
