It's best to use the Delphi gas pressurised ones especially at the rear. Your best bet at the moment would be the ones from French eBay: http://www.renault4.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=3607

cheers dude is this f4 pick up as rare as they say as im doing it from front to back and wonder if im ever going o get my dosh back.any info of how many done would be nice as its f4 not f6 and genuine rhdrive.ta r4 pickup

It is my belief that nobody makes any money out of restorations or is likely ever to break even. You have to do it for pleasure rather than gain!

I seem to remember it being on Ebay, it looked very good, but I'm not sure if its a professional factory build or a very good workshop build.

I just bought a set of Japanese Gas shocks for the back of my 4 and so far (touches wood) they seem to cope with our very bumpy farmyard very well indeed!
