Ok, so me and my mate have some how got to rent a double garage...

Which means I'll have some where away from my father's stuff and finally make a start on Rene, my 1985 R4. Hoping to enrol in a college evening welding courses as well in April.

So any one got a hints and tips along with any must needs for this garage?

And advice on how to tie down a R4 to a trailer is also welcome...

Thanks Eoynteenie

Also been buying more toys >.>

No, its my fathers saab that left me stranded on a roundabout with a broken clutch....

Guy who used to work in our local parish had one of these ... strange beast, with its steering wheel mounted gear lever and the free-wheeling that could be selected to let the car coast ... for "improved fuel efficiency" ... used 13l per 100km anyway.

My fathers is the V4 model, so the 'free wheel' is kind of a redundant feature of the gearbox, but for the earlier two-stoke models, it was there to stop the engine from over running or to remove engine breaking which could damage the revvy little engines....so i've been told. It was damn annoying because the lever was broken would turn itself on or off, often getting jammed in between so messing up the whole gearbox because you would put into an high gear and the engine was at the wrong revs so it won't pull away.

Andrew is right it was a leftover from the 2 strike engines which couldn't be allowed to run without petrol coming through them because having no oil source meant they would seize.

Now can we get back to the topic on hand? Started moving into the garage and already think i'm going to have a problem with the landlord as the stuff he said would be gone by the end of jan is still there!
