when cleaning off the old paint on my front and rear bumpers i found that they are both chrome and have cleaned up well how about that folks

Well you lucky...... I gues the owner at the time wanted to make it look like the later models. I remember my dad applying stickers and wood trim to the caravan for the same reason . Also because some sites were very snooty about older vans.
