    Steering rack fitting problem

Thanks for the replies guys. The issue of the rack end bush threads being too long had occurred to me, so I compared the ones off my old rack. Same size. I think that the hub carriers must be correct for my car or the steering would have next to no self-centring. Crazy question; is it possible...

    steering rack gaiter easy fitting

A word to the wise about fitting driveshaft gaiters with a cone. If you buy cone & gaiters as a kit, you'll be OK. About those damaged boots. The scissor type is definately best. They can really take the mechanical pressure judging by the bang when the taper lets go. Incidentally, does anyone know whether you can get replacement rubber ball-joint boots without having to buy the whole joint, & if so where from?

    Starting Problems

Many Thanks All of you were right - I was barking up the wrong tree. The problem was the choke flap, which closes under spring pressure when the choke cable is pulled out. Probably due to infrequent use, the flap spindle dried out & got stiff - so the flap remained open. No choke = no start...

    Starting Problems

My recently purchased 1974 Quatrelle is a beautiful timewarp car. She does however suffer from the same problem that has affected every carb-fed French car I have owned - namely, difficulty in starting when left overnight. What I think is happening is that fuel evaporates from the carb float...

Does anyone know if any of the exhaust components of the 1.1 ( manifold / link pipe/silencer/ tail pipe) are shared with the 850cc models?

    Exhaust Systems
