it look bad but its mine! (restoration process)

its better to use mechanics who is expert of Peugeot rather than use expert of Toyota, Nissan or other car, they will end up not help you but make your R4 dead,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

mechanics start to fit new gasket and measure valves

am plan to buy new distributor this month. My distributor is very old. Dirty. Touched with so many mechanics! Mechanics end up put hard paper in the point to make function.... So its better to buy new to escape all problem of fail to start. Increase fuel consumption......

Be careful with the type of the distributor, there are several types, "Femsa", built in Spain which are incredibily bad, one of my R4 had such a distributor and it worked very badly, I changed it for a Ducellier and it's incredible, it's not the same car or the same engine, I don't recognize my car, it works perfectly with better torque at low RPM, no more schocks during driving, really different. I recommend to choose the good one ;)

Thnks for ur alert! My Mechanics inform me there is no need to buy new distributor. The existed distributor have no problem
but to Buy condeser. Rotor arm.dist cam.point. All are ducellier product.....I buy them and help me to fit them. My baby bush drive perfectly but another problem exist along the way!!.... Too much white smoke come out of breather pipe!! What is that? Is it piston rings failure? One mechanics told me that! Is there any side effect when am still drive my R4

The main problem with Femsa is -like you noticed- that only Ducellier parts are sold to repair the distributor, if you have a Femsa and it works badly you cannot repair it, you have just to change it :(

Concerning the white smoke I have no idea ??... Personnaly the only time I had white smoke on one of my cars, was on my S7 from the exhaust, and it was the head gasket...

I love England for many reasons, especially... because we can register kitcars easily, in all cases easier than in France :D :D It was very difficult until the 80's and now it's almost impossible, my car has an immatriculation, yes, but... I made my best to have it, even it's not completely "official"
