Reversing light switch to gearbox

Forgive my ignorance but just want to clarify something.
If I have a blank plug in the left side of the gearbox, together with what obviously is the correct wiring terminal points in the wiring loom for the reversing light connection.
Does this automatically mean on a 845 4 speed gearbox 2106 code that connecting a reversing light switch, as Der Franzose Art 85120, will function correctly?
Any comment or clarification appreciated.
