Ah Paul you'd be a saviour, if its the pre 1982. Wouldn't have any wing panels too? Fronts and rear as the fronts have been replaced with pattern parts and the fit is poor...

I could do but a complete set of barrels with 2 new keys cost €25 delivered from France. It would cost a fortune to get a locksmith to do that for me. I just need an igntion lock now, but havent found the right one for my car yet. Oh and the lock has been removed totally i dont have one to get...

If we were going, we'd do the noisy camping too. It's by far the best way to get the atmosphere.

Clutch slipping...anything I can do myself?

If it's been slipping then generally you'll need to change it. However I drove a Citroën BX GTi years ago which had a slipping clutch in all the time I had it, I just let the power in gently and never over loaded the clutch with the torque. The trouble is with smaller engined cars like ours...

1975 Renault 6TL - the fine line between brave and stupid

If you need to replace them your best off getting them off whilst the suspension is still together, I have the same tool as the one you broke, I tend to load the pressure on with that then hit the ball joint with the BFH last initial is hammer to shock the joint apart!

1975 Renault 6TL - the fine line between brave and stupid

You can just unbolt (or if original drill the rivets out) of the ball joints and then bolt them back in afterwards, it makes life much much easier. :)

    Ball joint dust covers

Local motor factors will have a range of sizes, they used to be difficult to get hold of, but since they became part of an mot fail, they've been easier to obtain.

Yup it's an 845cc. My friend who shares my unit is a minor fan, in fact we have quite a few BLMC cars up here with 2 minors an MO Oxford, and a lovely low mileage Wolsley Land crab.

    Renault 4 from Norway

Hello, welcome to the forum. This is looking very good indeed. I don't know if it's of any use but if all else fails you can buy replacement electronic ignition kits that fit these engines.

    Here's Harvey!

Best thing about it was the guy I bought it off told me that the timing chain had gone (it was knocking very badly), and that he had been told to cut the bulkhead out to fix it.. Luckily he hadn't done so as he'd have been disappointed because it was the water pump that was knocking!

    Here's Harvey!

The chassis isn't too bad, it needs some welding on the drivers side heel board and a lot of bodywork fettling, we have a replacement bonnet and I need to get the rear wings off to sort out the rust on the joints, it's only done 45,000 miles so runs smoothly with less fatigue from the daily use...
