    R4 gathering in the UK?

On my recent trip to Sardinia, where I spent a lovely weekend in the company of the amazing members of Registro Storico R4 it was mentioned that some of them would love to visit the UK, and do we over here have any R4 gatherings? Well, I think we know the answer to that one, so, how about it...

    clutch cable for rhd r4

Glad you got fixed up ok, but for anyone else who needs a replacement cable, Speedy Cables can make one up using your old one as a pattern. Cost about £30 a few years ago. They are good for gauge repairs and any other hard to find cables too.

    Seat bases too high

A couple of years ago I replaced the drivers seat cushions, the new ones came from der Franzose. At first I felt I was sitting rather higher having for a while been using the passenger seat as the drivers one had collapsed. As time has gone on the new cushions have bedded in, and now I feel I'm...

    Driveshaft outer CV boot

It might not be the boot thats the problem Malcolm. Some aftermarket suspension knuckle joints are too long, so reducing the gap between bottom suspension arm and drive-shaft. The Delphi product is a case in point, some 4mm longer than the original part, so when the car is jacked up you cannot...

Crit Air in France. Are Classic cars exempt.

Yes, just where my car falls, too old for a sticker, but not old enough for exemption. Bloody bureaucracy

    Spotlights

I fitted my fog lights in the same fashion, and I often use them as running/marker lights, so I can be seen in the hubbub of modern traffic.

Crit Air in France. Are Classic cars exempt.

Hi Sprackers, I recently tried to apply for a Crit Air sticker, but when I entered the year of registration, (1985), I was told my car was too old to have one. So I just need to avoid the cities, which is fine by me. Be aware, there are some fake sites out there that will rip you off. I speak...

Hi all. Unfortunately the promised big R4 event in France this year as you probably know didnt happen, but there is a chance it will be on next year, so watch this space. However there is much R4 activity in Italy, so, who on here is making their way there in September? Kind regards Bry.

Mmm, very tempting Reid, thank you, but not this year as Italy is calling again. Yes it's nice to get together with the R4 fraternity and have some good times. Regards Bry.

    Harbourseal's visit.

Yes it was fun Jonothan, but probably too short a notice for most folk, even ones within a few hours driving I suppose. Bit of a hike for you from your place, so I completely understand, especially if you've got stuff on. Glad to hear you've got your 4 all ready for some summer motoring, any...

    Harbourseal's visit.

It was great to meet up with you and Sash Jim, and spend some time with you both. Glad we were able to improve your cars running. Earlier in the week folks we had driven up to Devon to visit Derek Flavell of Renospeed and his partner Nijole for a fish n chip lunch, and we were joined by a good...

    Terminal decline?

Hi Sage, I agree with Malcolm, it doesn't look too bad really, and if you start poking it, it could open up a real can of worms. So, as our leader suggested give it a good spray with oil, 50x50 engine oil and cavity wax works well, and take it from there. At least you can use the car and come...
