I extended the trunk from the air cleaner to very close to the exhaust .I have been out for a 15 mile run and the only thing constraining my speed was my courage on these winding Lincolnshire roads (not having driven a four before)
I went into my Renault agent and the rubber pipes from carb to water pump are still available so they too are on order and I shall fit the whole kit when it arrives.
Although my carb is an SEIA I am not sure what it was for I notice that as well as earlier 4s it was fitted the lower spec R18s I assume with different jets.

Glad to be of service. If you want to be really clever then make a box to fit round the front pipe to capture more of that hot air!!
