Chassis# and production date?

I recently found some old photos and documents relating to my father's first Renault 4. He bought it here in Denmark in 1962 and it was wrecked in an accident in the late 1960ies (no one got badly hurt!).

Seeing a photo of it (attached) I realised that it did not have the rear side window that I recall from our later R4s. So I suppose dad had to go for the cheap version :)

I wonder if anything meaningfull like a production date or place can be deducted from the material?

From the sales contract:
Chassis number was 3628.061
Engine number was 123.765
Model number was R 1120
Mark was "Renault 4"

Any insight would be welcome

The only numbers I can find that might help are these, from the Renault PR900 parts book (the years will be 'model years'):

These numbers will have been on the underbonnet oval/diamond plate - I don't know whether it's a coincidence, but the 'engine number' you give would fit. At any rate, you know when your father bought the car.
I don't know whether/when CKD ('completely knocked down') kits were delivered to Denmark. It seems likely, though, that the car was assembled in France. It looks as though it was the 'Standard' version of the R1120 (top right in the photo - from the 1963 manual)

For more advice, you could try Steen at Stony Renault: https://www.renaultdele.dk/

P.R.686 could provide more information. But sure it is an early 1962 R4 standard (R1120) which looks like the R3 only the R1120 got a slightly bigger engine then the R3.

You can enquire to Renault Classic with the chassis number and they may be able to provide you the "fiche d' usine" - the data sheet for each particular car that includes its build date.
Numbers on the Renault parts books regarding model years are oval plate numbers, not chassis or engine numbers.
Judging from its tubular bumper, it is certainly a 1962 model (built between November 1961 and July 1962).
