Hello all, I have a fully restored 1995 Renault TWINGO 1.2. and I know that I'm a complete noob in this forum. So I'm asking sorry in advance for any "stupid" quote I'll make, going forward.

My first query is:
Was it possible or not, in a standard factory 4L model, to fold down both the backrests of the front seat and the backrest of the rear seat about 90° and interlock them to create an almost flat, 180° "bed", with a final length equal to the total sum of the two seats plus the two respective backrests (approx. 170 cm)?

I have a strong conviction that the 4L was the First RENAULT to promote this capacity, and the strange memory, when I was a "lad", of seeing one somewhere with this "bed" pre-assembled.

Or am I, simply, suffering from some kind of Mandela Effect, and was it only when the TWINGO appeared that RENAULT finally launched a car with this possibility included?

If anyone could answer me, I would be grateful...and if anyone could provide me with an image (or a link to one) where this executed capability can be seen, I would be doubly grateful.

Thank you all for your consideration.

The car you refer to may be the R16, which had a rear seat with an independent backrest that provided numerous inner room arrangements. The rear backrest hinged from its top corners, and therefore the "bed setup" was achieved by fixing the backrest horizontally and flipping the front seat backrests to 180 degrees. The feet of the sleeping persons would lie on the boot, passing under the rear seat backrest.
