Mk 1 R4L metal front window frames

Hi all. I am putting this in again, because I had no replies at all last time. We have this new project, a 72 4L basic, called Renee . It has metal windows to the front doors which appear to be in good shape, but I notice that there appears to be remnants of a rubber/ plastic felt channel or guide that sits in the frame, and in which the glass slides, rather than sliding in the metal frame. Does anyone know where we can get this insert from for right and left front doors, or an acceptable alternative. Because there is so little there, I have not seen it in situ, so don't know what I am actually looking for. Some of you have cars of that vintage and construction so must have faced a similar problem. I can change them to the plastic later type, but I am trying to retain originality if possible. In the pic, with the right hand closer group, i can see the darker curved piece which appears to be the channel that holds the fixed front pane. So is it the further frame between the two glass pieces that is the runner for the sliding glass?
 
Yes, the innermost frame is the sliding glass frame; the outermost the fixed glass frame, but the whole thing operates as one unit (it's a long time since I've taken a metal window frame apart, though). I haven't been able to track down replacement parts for the frames - I imagine there's quite a lot of competition for them!.
