I'm a newbie here, so please pardon my ignorance. Recently acquired a 1961 Dauphine which was falsely advertised as having been completely restored. Long story short, engine developed a knock after driving 1 km. Dropped oil pan, main and connecting rod bearing caps. One connecting rod journal on crankshaft severely scored! Pulled engine, disassembled, sent to machine shop, acquired another crankshaft, and now about to begin the assembly process. I prefer to use the conventional engine stands which support the engine about 1 m off the ground...any suggestions for a proper way to support the engine during assembly? I like to use my engine stand as it allows 360-degree rotation of the engine. Yes, I shall be careful not to rotate the crankshaft unless the liners are properly secured.
