So after fitting the accuspark kit an update, at first all was well it ran like a dream but then started miss firing, on closer inspection the rotar arm was not sitting low enough and caused it to wobble and cause damage to the disi cap taking chucks out of one of the internal terminals carving it out. I spoke to accuspark who said it's a common problem and there wasn't a fix and to return it to them for a refund, so tonight I have removed it and reinstalled the points and set back up, all working well following the manual set up posted the other day, it's too late to test drive but a new rotar and disi cap installed let's see how she runs. A little disappointed that the electronic ignition was a failure for me but glad I kept all the old bits..

Sorry to hear!

How much km/ml did you drive with accuspark?

Is that new cap that rotor destroyed or you are talking about first one?

I would be grateful if you could post picture of that destroyed cap. From inside.

I have done some 3000km with it until now and it works great. (after i have pressed rotor arm little bit more in).

I replaced the rotar and cap with a new one when I replaced with electronic ignition, pictures below of the damage, replaced now with a new cap and rotar, set up the points at 0.40mm with a dwell reading of 50degrees and correct timing, runs well and pulls nicely.

That is to much grind of.

I am really surprised. :o

Can you measure height of that cap?

I can not understand that my is working alright and yours is destroyed.

What is your distributor tipe?

Sorry to disturb you but would like to find out what is reason for yours to be destroyed, and mine is working nice.

Thank you!

Hey Petek, the rotar and cap were from a company called Intermotor - it could be that the cap was not compatible with the Accuspark system but I shall certainly measure the cap when I get home at the weekend

One thing that i am thinking of is that Intermotor cap is slightly low than Ducellier cap and you find your self a problem.

Please do measure cap.

I will measure mine so we can compare.

Will do, lets compare and see if we can also help Accuspark out with our findings

Have measured mine cap and rotor.
cap is some "noname"
rotor is Ducellier

You can see damage on mine cap from inside. After i have noticed i just pressed rottor little bit more and since than there is no problem any more

rotor arm
IMG_20171117_144038.jpg

Rotor height from bottom to metal 28mm
IMG_20171117_144117.jpg

When you place rotor where it should be

IMG_20171117_144849.jpg

distance from dizzy edge to the rotor pointer is 24mm
IMG_20171117_145007.jpg

distance from cap edge to the pin base inside cap is 26mm
IMG_20171117_145120.jpg

So there is 2 mm gap.

Pins inside cap are 50mm apart. 25mm from pin to center of the cap
From center of rotor to end of pointer is 24mm
So there is 1mm gap between pointer on rotor to the pin in cap.

I am waiting your dimensions to campare
