Finally took the courage...

Very professional approach to getting the job done well.
Will watch progress with great interest.

While I am still trying to make welding good enough to approach my chassis, in the bodyshop the work is going on and the project is getting his shape...

Is the bodywork man cutting the roof off in the end?

Already cut, I see... I am back from a meeting and hope to see the progress tomorrow, I think it is welded in place...
just drilled the welding point all around the gutter and swapped the roof...

Remarkable.... You are doing what I Should and would have done had the shot blasting not ruined the Donor Bodyshell . I'm watching your post with a keen interest [

In my body shop the man suggested initially to sand blast the body, but once seen it was in quite good shape he abandoned the idea, just reserving local blasting in little rusted areas...

Please please be very careful. My shell was ruined by over done blasting. Another time (if I durvive this one) it's wire brush on a drill or soda blasting for me

Visiting the workshop after the meeting...

A few patches done, others still to do, holes to fill with torch and copper wire (so the man said)...
The problem for them will be aligning front wings and bonnet without the front crossmember!

Interesting! My chassis is ready
so thinking I can do trial alignment of wings and inner wings on the chassis

Today spent a few hours grinding with my flex removing rust and old antistone from chassis... my garage looked as a volcano erupted inside it, all the stuff covered with black powder. Me too.
More rust discovered...

Didn't resist and cut a piece of metal to look inside... definitely need a better drill bit to open welding points.

I finally bought a drill bit with a plain point to unweld points... 24 euros, definitely not cheap!

The first rotten corner is cut away.

A doubt comes: how can I form this pattern on my plain metalsheet?it should have a parte with this "stripes" and another part without... wonder how not to deform the metal and not have it curved...

Looking good, they really all rust in the same places dont they... Keep up the good work !

Pretty sure the best solution for originality is to buy a replacement section or whole floor from one of the specialist suppliers
Quite how they can deliver by courier and at what cost I am not sure

I don't care about originality under the carpet, but it has to be sound and strong enough and waterproof too.

If you want to add stiffnes to the steel plate you can make groove in it allong old pattern.
You can use round tube with correct diameter and press it in plate by hammering tube in vice or press it with hidraulic press.

If you would to look like original one then you would need template, and hidraulic press

Last time I stopped at the left triangle...
No more lasagna metal sheets, cut all and welded a single layer of 2mm thick metal.

Welding again all the accessories ;P

At the end I prepared the patch with the holes for plug-welding...

Then was dinner time and I stopped.
