All seals face forward (flat side towards brake pedal end) except for the rearmost seal of the front piston, which must be installed facing backwards. Note that rear seal of rear piston is different.

The seal you have posted is the input shaft seal, which is much smaller. Differential output seal dimensions are 36x54x8.

Andy, thanks for posting the UK brochure! By looking at the parts book, the RHD cars got the black dashboard one year earlier - 1973 model year. Now it's clear!

1972 models have beige dashboards for sure. The hole on the bumper was deleted along with the gearbox dog on 1972 model year cars. The bumper must had been replaced at some time with an earlier one.
