R4 TL restauration

Why using layers of filler...mmmm....that's a good question. In my modest opinion, it surely is disastrous for the bonnet or any other body panel or even worse, consealing mishapes on support beames and various places on the chassis.
People who do such kind a thing have in my opinion a lazy attitude

Big, better, best - we got ourselves a new toy!

'Photobucket, - go *(&#(*^ - yourself up'. Unfortunately PB decided to kill all the hotlinks with my photos, unless I pay 500 dollar a year...

Damm pity!

That's ridiculous! I was trying to find a photo of your soda blaster this morning and noticed the problem. I thought it was my computer doing silly things.

There is the whole history of your restoration gone:(

Well, I think I will need a few beers and start reloading the photos. O dear..

And nicer to......i looks like you did better job on car this time :D

Haha, thanks Petak!

I finally found some time to work on the R4 again, jeey! I started working on the bodypanels. I first primed the inner side, then I wil paint it black and then some anti stone chip. I also started working on the hood, o hell - my back hurts now

:). It had some serious filler on it!

I cleaned the hood and primed the inside. The outside has many bumps, so I can have much fun with filler and hours of sanding - what a joy (not) :)

Painted the inner bodypanels. Next time I can fix them! Yeahh!

Nice work Jurjen on the panels and indeed the bonnet need some serious attention  I can see it in my mind, hours and hours of sanding....anyway it's the eyecatcher isn't it? ;)

First layer of filler is sanded down, very rewarding to feel the bonnet is going to get real smooth! Up to the next one!

First layer:

Sanded down, best way to feel any bumps or holes is to use your hand and feel for imperfections. Then circle the area.

Next layer of filler

I won't post every filler-sanding stage, so next time I will show you the result! To be continued! :)

Sanding, priming, sanding, filling, sanding, filling, sanding, filling, sanding, painting, painting, sanding, painting, painting, painting, sanding, painting, painting, painting, painting, sanding, painting ...
Good luck!!!

Wow that looks like a professional bodywork shop :artist:
Keep up the good work Jurjen with that professional help ;)
