Temperature sensor unit R4 1108cc - where from?

The temperature warning light comes on sometimes on our R4F6 (1108cc), but water levels in rad and expansion bottle are fine, not boiling or anything, fan kicks in too, so suspect an iffy sensor, pictured here, on near side of engine block. Anyone have a spare new one or know where to get one from to try? Seen one listed on ebay but looks a different fitting despite saying for a R4 1108 engine. Any help appreciated. Cheers Lou

Can't help you with the sensor I'm afraid, but check that the connection and wiring are OK too.

Beware that the temperature sensor from a Cleon engine is different than from a Billancourt engine!

Before you change the sensor, it'd be worth checking that there's no air in the cooling system - if there is, it can cause the symptoms you describe.
