By fresh water you mean tap water? Distilled water should be used.

Making a new key from nothing just using the door/ignition lock costs 20 euro in my city. The problem with R4 is that the ignition lock would have to be taken out of the car for the job. In newer cars ( with 1 key for everything ) the expert usually dismounts door lock.

Isn't it possible to open the pump and change the seal ? I did that on an old FIAT water pump where the seal was sold as a repair kit.

Valeo , Luc or Sachs are all the same for me. I have seen many times some of them packed in boxes of the other or even a plate having two logos on it ( for example painted LUC and stamped on metal Sachs ) I wouldnt recomend anyting cheap. tried once a plate for 10 pounds and it wasnt running...

If they are connected to a bulb , tester will also show connection to the body ( it will beep when set to beep function ) I had similar switch ( not connected) in my car and it wasn't stop lights because the original stop light switch was pretty close to it and connected.
