I adore this road.
Especially when highway is opened and this road is empty as you described in one picture.

This is how my last weekend begin. On Friday, I removed seats and carpets, and cleaned everything...

On this last photo you can see me inspecting rust on his very rare 4x4. Car is special, apart from it`s 4x4, but this certain car was official vehicle of Sarajevo Olympic games in 1984.

So, I left it in Slovenia and this house will be his new home in next 2 weeks.

Work started...

So now i officially have two in progress. This one, and the white one...

There is nothing new about the white one except rear wings do not fit. Angle is not correct, space between wing and upper part is too big in some spots, so it will have to be redone... Unfortunately, I think that this season it will be out of the road :/
But, this one will be on the road so... heart will survive ;)

This is it for this week... next week he will move on to front triangles and then rear inner wings...
I`m very happy with progress. All parts are protected with cataphoresis, primer coat, epoxy and paint.

It`s interesting how (in my mind) this one was bought for winter car, with all his good and bad sides but as more as I drove it, it became my favourite... I just said to petak- I like cars with stories. This one is originally from Zagreb, it has old license plate (license plates are my hobby and passion), I`m in touch with previous owner, it was untouched, stuck in time. When white one will be done, it will be a beautiful car, but it doesn`t have that some click I have with this one. I think every time I`ll go out, I will pick up this one˙s keys and went with a smile on my face... I don`t know, we will see...

Always good to see another R4 is taken care of and saved for the future, it keeps the roads more colourful.
I'm not surprised to see the famous well known rust and rot spots every R4 has, good job MarioZg for sharing the repair progress.
Best regards, Joop

Well... yep :D But it will be a beautiful car when it will be done
New week started, job has to go on...

After front triangles will be done, that`s it with the chassis. Then he`ll move one to rear inner wings and rear corner (what you see when you open rear doors). So far, I am very satisfied with this work, he is a real genious :clapping:

Ups... neverending story :D well, that was out of the initial plan, but since we got here it will be stupid to not repair. Anyway, on the right side floor is great without rust but on the left rotted. Interesting, because on the left side is exhaust and always should be hot and dry.

Well the R4 famous rust, I wasn't surprised that more area's would show up.
The R4 rusts from the inside out (almost everywhere) and the left floor panel is no exeption.
This is caused by water running in from the left drain that runs above the left door and down to the front.
The left door (on LHD cars) is the most used door and after sometime the door rubbers are seized and lose their function.
A small opening is enough to let water in from the front drain trough the door rubber opening and get stuck underneath the rubber floormat and there it will sit because there's no ventilation or means to vaporize.
@mojobaby wrote a topic about this phenomenon https://www.renault4.co.uk/forum/threads/found-my-leak-at-last.8991/#post-61073

So I would advise to change all the door rubbers as well.

Good job so far.
Regards, Joop

Yes, he makes them by himself. I think that those from der Franzose are his work. You can contact him via renault4.si

And finally, this is it, I am writing this post while preparing to go to Žiri :D... we worked until late yesterday to get it done by today. Deal was 10 working days and 10 working days it is. This is the last photo before I get there. More photos later :D
