My renault 4 restoration

Seems very nice!

Quick question - I assume the engine is a 1100cc? And that's a dual barrel 32 weber right?

I'm wondering what power gains you can get from that. Had a deal to have one refactored for about 100€ but I passed at the time but now I regret doing that :/
I'm not sure what power i can get with this setup , but i know that zenith 32 gives you extra 10, so i would assume that it would be at least that

Want to try that on my 845cc. Might get a R5 intake and a another 32 weber for this purpose.

I’m sorry to disappoint you. An R5 manifold will never ever fit to a 845cc engine.

Try and find a 845cc fourgounette or R6 manifold for a 32 mm carb.
They are very rare.

I know of one that might be for sale in the Netherlands.

Bare in mind that you need the special part to operate the carburetor to.

As I told you earlier.
The 845 is not a speeding machine. It has plenty power in the low revs range.
In high revs it makes plenty noise but it has very little extra power.
Maybe find another gearbox either a higher gear ratio to.

Ohhh. Really sorry. I didn't understood that the R5 manifold wouldn't work. Thanks! Should have been with more attention.

My 845cc is from a R6 so I already have the manifold?

As for the gearbox, would'nt a higher gear ratio hurt the acceleration?

@DFigueira if you post a picture of your carburetor setup in your own topic we might be able to find out what it is that you have.

The suspension is stripped and ready for blasting , floor is welded on.
I fitted the chassis on rotisserie, now the front bit and reinforcing bit underneath
And ready for final paint

The crankshaft is good , liners just need a little hone , pistons are perfect, camshaft is good just. I would like to change lifters as they have good bit of wear on the sides , but i have problems with locating them.
Also valve seats need replacing.

And suddenly my eye fell on your location.
I have worked at Annesgrove Gardens in Castletownroche.
Love to come and see your project when I visit some friends there.

You are always welcome :)

All the suspension parts are blasted , and wire brushed, primed with epoxy primer ,
And painted black (pictures later) . The reinforcing cross member and the font bit welded on , just the seatbelt bit to be welded on and it's ready for painting :)

You are going for a limited slipp differential.
A friend of mine wants me to put one in his La Poste f4.
